Episode 11:
In leg 12, which was a non-elimination leg, the Final Three Teams raced from Auckland, New Zealand to Maui, Hawaii. Brother & sister Blake & Paige and separated couple Tara & Wil tied for first place on this leg, so both Teams won vacations to London and Paris, courtesy of American Airlines Vacations. On the exciting final leg, the three Teams were neck and neck much of the time as they took a wild ride through Alaska en route to the final Pit Stop at East Fort Baker overlooking San Francisco Bay. Separated couple Tara & Wil were in the lead as they approached the final check-in mat, but in the last moments of the race they were outpaced by lifelong friends Chris & Alex, who sprinted across the finish line in first place. Brother and sister Blake & Paige came in a close third, but both agreed that they'd had a great experience. Winners Chris & Alex were elated, and expressed admiration for their competition. A weary but delighted Alex summed up their experience: "There's no other word to describe it but amazing!"

Episode 10:
In the final elimination leg of the race, the four remaining Teams blazed a trail across New Zealand as they jockeyed for position on a tight ferry ride, rappelled into the abyss of "The Lost World," and off-roaded in ATVs across rugged terrain. Tara & Wil became embroiled in early arguments, but managed to grab the Fast Forward in the pit of a volcano, landing them in first place. Oswald & Danny fought back from an early defeat at the ferry landing, but found themselves on the losing end of a tight race to the Pit Stop with Chris & Alex, as they became the eighth Team to be eliminated from the Amazing Race.

Episode 9: The final four Teams raced from Coober Pedy, Australia to New Zealand, where they took a hair-raising bungee jump, the world's second longest, at the Detour. Blake & Paige, bypassed the Detour and won the Fast Forward in a harrowing speedboat ride along the Shotover River. The other three Teams then drove across New Zealand's Canterbury Plains and hit the Roadblock, which required participants to try their hands at shepherding. After the hilarious encounter with sheep, Teams raced to the Pit Stop at Inverary Sheep Station, where Blake & Paige were waiting. Oswald & Danny arrived last, but since this was a non-elimination leg, all four Teams remain in THE AMAZING RACE.

Episode 8, Leg 9: In leg 9, the second of this 2-leg episode, Teams had to race through Sydney to Coober Pedy in parched South Australia. Chris & Alex won the Fast Forward by eating delicious meat pies in Sydney. The other Teams climbed Sydney Bridge, then chose either to search for opals in a dark Coober Pedy mine, or to golf in the blazing sun at the Detour. At the Roadblock, Team members learned to throw a boomerang. Delayed when they switched from the opal mine to golf, Gary & Dave arrived last at the Pit Stop, an aboriginal bush camp outside Coober Pedy, becoming the seventh Team eliminated from THE AMAZING RACE.

Episode 8, Leg 8: In leg 8, Teams raced through Hong Kong, then flew to Sydney, Australia. At the Detour in Hong Kong, some Teams rowed dragon boats, while others opted to bear a ceremonial lion's head through city streets. At the Roadblock in Sydney, Team members performed a series of tasks following cryptic instructions written in Aussie slang. Blake & Paige were last to arrive at the Pit Stop at Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art, but when they checked in, host Phil Keoghan informed them that this was a non-elimination leg, so they're still in the running on THE AMAZING RACE.

Sisters Mary & Peach began in first place, but lost time when they were beaten to the Fast Forward by former roommates Gary & Dave. At the Roadblock, Tara bested Chris in an exciting battle of giant container cranes. Some Teams sipped herbal tea at the Detour, but Oswald & Danny opted to go their own way to a wishing tree. Despite their valiant efforts, Mary & Peach were last to arrive at the Pit Stop aboard a Chinese junk in Hong Kong harbor, thus they were the sixth Team eliminated from THE AMAZING RACE.

Episode 6: This may have been a non-elimination leg, but the action was fast and furious as the six remaining Teams raced from bustling Bangkok to northern Thailand. Mary & Peach crowed "Girl Power!" as they rafted past Gary & Dave on the wild river Detour; Tara became annoyed by Wil's short temper on the road; Team members had a great time washing elephants at the Roadblock; at one point, several Teams took a break and went on a shopping spree. At the Pit Stop in northern Thailand, Wil stepped on the check-in mat just ahead of Chris & Alex, prompting Alex to declare, "I think I'm just going to take his girl. Just for him stepping in front, he's going to have to learn a lesson the hard way."

Episode 5: Tensions mounted as the Teams raced from Namibia to Bangkok, Thailand. Blake and Wil argued over how to play the game fairly, everyone found it difficult to get around in the bustle and confusion of Bangkok, and those who performed the Roadblock had to creep through a cave teeming with bats and roaches. Delayed when they couldn't find the right water taxi in Bangkok, ordained ministers and married parents Cyndi & Russell were last to arrive at the Pit Stop in Ampawa, Thailand, and became the fifth Team eliminated from THE AMAZING RACE.

Episode 4: Teams raced from Cape Town, South Africa to Namibia, where they sandboarded down the Matterhorn, a giant sand dune, in the Detour. Next, they hit the Roadblock, which required one member of each Team to drive hard bargains at a local marketplace and amass a collection of carved wooden African animals. Oswald and Danny took the "easy" way out by finding the Fast Forward in a hotel swimming pool, and were first to check in at the Pit Stop at Amani Lodge, Namibia. Shola & Doyin got stuck in the sand and were last to check in, thus they were the next Team eliminated from THE AMAZING RACE.

Episode 3: Leaving their lush jungle camp at Iguaçu Falls, Brazil, the Teams flew to South Africa in search of Nelson Mandela's former cell. After either dancing for tips or delivering fish at the Detour, Teams hit the Roadblock, which required participants to drink a bitter brew. Delayed by a roundabout flight to Cape Town via New York City, Gutsy Grannies Peggy & Claire arrived last at the winery Pit Stop and were the third Team eliminated from THE AMAZING RACE.
